The following community water use restrictions were instituted on September 25, 2013.

In terms of impactful weather, 2012 was a year for the record books, with minimal amounts of rainfall and extreme heat across the state. The drought continues over much of Nebraska. The following public water systems in Nebraska have reported either mandatory or voluntary water use restrictions.

Battle Creek - Mandatory; odd/even lawn watering; no watering from 12 noon to 6 p.m.

Benkelman - Mandatory; odd/even lawn watering; no watering from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; no watering Sunday.

Elsie - Voluntary; cut back in watering.

Gering - Voluntary; cut back in watering.

Gothenberg - Voluntary; cut back in watering.

Grant - Mandatory; watering limited to 1 day per week.

Harbine - Mandatory; no outside watering.

Hyannis - Mandatory; odd/even lawn watering; no watering on Monday.

Milford - Voluntary; Voluntary cut back in watering.

Otoe Co. RWD #3 - Voluntary; cut back in watering.

Pawnee City - Voluntary; cut back in watering.

Scottsbluff - Voluntary; cut back in watering.

Terrytown - Voluntary; cut back in watering.
