In terms of impactful weather, 2012 was a year for the record books, with minimal amounts of rainfall and extreme heat across the state. The drought continues over much of Nebraska. The following public water systems in Nebraska have reported either mandatory or voluntary water use restrictions as of July 19, 2013.

Battle Creek - Mandatory; odd/even lawn watering; no watering from 12 noon to 6 p.m.

Benkelman - Mandatory; restriction not specified.

Elsie - Voluntary; cut back in watering.

Gering - Voluntary; cut back in watering.

Gothenberg - Voluntary; cut back in watering.

Grant - Mandatory; watering limited to 2 days per week .

Harbine - Mandatory; no outside watering.

Hyannis - Mandatory; odd/even lawn watering; no watering on Monday.

Scottsbluff - Voluntary; cut back in watering.

Terrytown - Voluntary; cut back in watering.

Venango - Mandatory; restriction not specified.
